Space to insert your own watch charger is often preferable to an integrated charger, as the majority of third-party watch chargers don't support fast charging for Series 7 and newer Apple Watches. In this case, it's still kinda crappy, because the 5W output will limit your watch's included USB-C fast charger to slow charging speeds, so you have to plug it into a separate adapter if you want fast charging anyway. I suppose you could use that 5W output for something else, e.g. AirPods without a MagSafe charging case, or a USB-powered bedside lamp or something that would otherwise be generating additional clutter anyway.
andysaurus_rexIt's reasonable to assume that'd be the case, but to the best of my knowledge it's wrong. I've never seen a 2- or 3-in-one dock like this that includes fast charging for Apple Watch at less than $150. I just took another look now, and it seems that's still the case; Fast (watch) charging docks are few and far between, and the ones that do exist are expensive.
The Apple Watch fast charging puck is $30 on its own, but you already have one if you have a fast charging watch. Even if you want a second, add that and a 20W USB-C PD adapter to the $110 price here and you're probably just about breaking even with the other options, e.g. Belkin, Otterbox.
CrazyRageBig brain take right there. You know, all apple watches come with a charging puck in the box. Even the USB A versions will work with a $1 USB C to A adapter. OH THE HORROR!!! A WHOLE EXTRA DOLLAR!!!
