Intended for MX-compatible PCBs, these gold-plated PCB screw-in stabilizers prevent regular Cherry PCB-mount stabilizers from popping out of your custom build while removing stabilized keys. Custom made with gold-plated wire and transparent color-dyed housings, these stabilizers bring a little flair to a part of your keyboard that’s traditionally lacking Read More
So Zeal threw a fit to stop the clear Durock stab drop a while back, but if they come in Handerbeit colors it's alright?
This hobby really feels like a joke sometimes, people just associate quality with the color of plastic (like people that think Gateron reds are crap but Gateron yellows are as smooth a vint blacks).
Zeal might be right to defend the physical design of his stabs (even if it is a minor variation on a 30+ year old design), and he has a right to be mad even if it is legal.
The stabs sold here use the same design/molds as the previously "infringing" stabs, but now it's all ok because they are in a different color scheme (translucent red and blue) instead of clear?
Zeal can make claims to an improved design. The inconsistency here suggests that he thinks he own clear plastic too.
RayndalfAlso pretty much got ePBT stabs taken off the market. Reason why I'll never buy Zeal products again. That and there's a plethora of options now that are not nearly as over priced.
Ok so I was looking at the stabs but got really distracted by the PCB... Why does it look swiss cheese, is it necessary? Is there a layout the PCB doesnt support? Where's the USB port? Why has it been desoldered? Why is a desoldered PCB photographed instead of a new one? Was it the first/closest one they had? What mounting method is it, there's only 2 holes on the side for traymount? Is this even a real PCB or a "universal" one they made to just show off different stab positions? They must have heaps of them if its just a show PCB, right? Did they only have a budget for 1 "universal" PCB? Why would there be traces if its just a test PCB? Did they autotrace this one aswell? Why does it look like theres "oil marks" on the right side of the PCB only? Are the dark patches fingerprint marks? Did someone not wash their hands with soap?
also what manu made these stabs?
And to think a few months ago they sent out this long email that they were all caught up or almost caught up. Its not even the delay that's bad, its the lack of damn communication. These were slated to ship OCTOBER 13th and we are getting delay notices a full month AFTER the ship date passes instead of before? Real smooth Drop... real smooth. Could it have hurt to maybe send these notifications weeks ago instead of weeks past the ship date? It must be really hard to send emails huh?
”Dear diary,
i don’t know what day it is since we were supposed to have these ship. Honestly I’ve lost count. The winter is fierce and food supplies are low. Little comfort exists in this world without my stabs. My space at clangs on my aluminum case, alerting the wolves to my presence. All I hear now are drums...drums in the deep. I have now barricaded myself in the great hall, there is no way out. They are coming.”
@muni_chang@erickong@SpencerL Sorry for the broadcast, not sure who to contact, but this is getting kind of ridiculous that we can't get some kind of update or information.
Contacted support, their response:
”Thanks for contacting us here at Drop Community Support. My name's Katrina and I'll be helping out today.
As of right now we don't have an updated ship date for the 43 Studio RX78 Gold-Plated PCB Screw-In Stabilizers but we're working with the vendor to get one. As soon as we do, we'll get an update out to everyone.
Please let me know if you have any further questions as I'm happy to help.”
I think the sad part is that that is an update. If they were transparent about the fact that its running behind schedule and that we are likely not going to be getting our goods shipped anytime soon that would have been so much more respectable than just leaving us with no information. Very unimpressed, especially after the "POM" holy pandas LOL.
atomsk13This probably mean a December ship date if we're lucky, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's next year before we get these. It takes them at least a month to sort, pack, and ship, then another two weeks to ship it to us.
