So does the 5.11 mean anything in particular or is it just part of their brand name? What makes this Hoodie Tactical? Don't remember reading or watching anything about Seal Team 6 guys, or anyone in tactical espionage or warfare wearing tactical hoodies. Honestly, an hoodie is the absolute last piece of clothing someone in that profession would pick to wear in their theater of work. I just don't get it by definition alone. What makes an hoodie tactical? Webster says of, relating to, or constituting actions carefully planned to gain a specific military end. lol, I doubt this Hoodie will provide anyone with the insight to a plan that helps their side gain momentum to a military victory. It's a good looking hoodie but,...... idk, just don't understand the naming. Is that wording to make us want to buy something that is supposed to make us feel like we are investing in "REAL" tactical gear? Cuz I have news for you. There's absolutely nothing tactical about these hoodies or hoodies in general. If I'm wrong please correct me. Hoodies are bulky and far from tight fitting. I'd really like to be wrong because I do like the looks and build quality of these hoodies. Just don't like the description or title. Seems extremely misleading to the consumer which is what I was hoping Massdrop would have the scruples to keep off their site.

Neblin7The brand's name is "5.11 Tactical", thus it is a "5.11 Tactical hoodie".
The 5.11 in the name refers to the second hardest grade of rock climb, the company was originally an outdoor wear company and ventured out into making tactical wear.
They also have a number of lines which are off public catalogue as well.

NonKonnektion5.11 is far from the second hardest grade in rock climbing, most intermediate-advanced climbers can manage that.

dhagertYou're right. I remembered wrong, and should have checked before I posted but was tired :-)
'“5.11” is a rock climbing difficulty level as listed in the Yosemite Decimal System.' From the 5.11 website.
Must have been something personal to the founder.
