I've used them for years without issue, and I know people that have also. The ones in drop may even be made in the same factory lol.

TonyGHBIf they're working for you throughout all those 'years' then good on you. If you haven't used these, don't criticise it. These ones from the drop are working out well so far for me. I've used cheap silicone ones from ebay sometime back, they ended up getting flattened out, a few had even split, they fatigued out quick from their short life. And it doesn't matter if they're made in the same factory, as long as these firmer industrial rubber types aren't the cheap silicone junk produced on a different production line.

Looks good but the shipping is pretty unbeliveable for such a small product. In fact I'm pretty sure I've been in drops with bulkier items and lower shipping...

Shipping should be $0.49, since that's the cost of first class postage and the o-rings would fit in a regular envelope.

TigoleWell, maybe a little extra for a padded envelope and non machine able, plus tracking. There is no logic behind Massdrop shipping charges sometimes. I just take the total price into consideration since the only choice I have is to buy or not.

What's up with the shipping price on this? 13$ shipping on a 6$ item, which is incredibly small and weights about 50g is just silly. I would totally buy these if the shipping was reasonable.

Hey everyone. Unlike most people commenting here, I wish to reduce key travel as much as I can get away with. is 2.5mm safe to do so without interrupting the actuation point? Also, what are these "beams" in the product description? I have a single keyboard with SA keycaps, the rest are OEM profile. But no idea if they have "beams". Anyone?
Vira, I just ordered a set of SP's SA keycaps from MD (their second Carbon drop). You mention these keycaps do not have cross bars, so you'd need to stack the o-rings to work. Do you by chance know the o-ring stack height needed for SP SA's for the rings to be effective? If the rings seat against the underside of the finger contact surface (makes sense to me if there are no cross bars), then maybe the stacking varies depending on SA row number? Especially for R1 vs. the others...

dvorcolI got the Pulse SA set like a year ago, and I had a single layer of fatass o-rings in every cap. Turn out they weren't even touching the switch housing (or whatever it is they're supposed to contact).
I estimate you need at least two layers, possibly three for them to even do anything, as the keycaps are massive and they have no crossbars. I just took them out and put a single layer on my Ducky with MX speed switches, as a dual layer of o-rings were causing too many missed or double activations.

Ty Kunal.
MakamiOkie doke. Sorry for the delay. Had to get the details from a few people first to make sure I understood everything. The following explanation is how I understand it from Logistics.
The short of it is that shipping for this one is exceptionally high because it's being drop shipped by the vendor so it has to be sent via USPS. It was explained to me that DHL will only allow shipping from one address to another, while USPS will allow multiple addresses. USPS has a base starting rate so sending an empty envelope would still cost about the same as these o-rings.
It's higher than DHL which is why other items on the site are shipped at lower cost despite the weight, but comes with some other perks and service benefits. It's a give and take with shipping, but having these sent to our warehouse first and then shipped out by DHL would cause about the same net cost since shipping savings would be offset by the additional handling costs.
I'll work with Yanbo when he gets back to see if we can do something about this, but I think this is just the state of shipping internationally. I'm sure everyone has an example of other companies sending things from A to B for less, but I don't want to speculate on how they operate or mitigate costs.
I know it's not the most helpful thing, but hope this at least helps to make sense of the numbers.
