It all began in 1988. Paradise Pen Company, passionate about writing and writing instruments, opened its first shop in Denver. Today, nearly 30 years later, the company has expanded its reach, operating stores around the country and selling pens around the world. As a tribute to its roots, Paradise Pen has released the 5280 Ambassador fountain pen with gold-plated trim—a shoutout to the Mile High City and its elevation of 5,280 feet above sea level.
Note: At checkout, you can choose a fountain pen with Medium nib in Black with Gold Trim or Burgundy with Rose Gold Trim. You can also add or substitute a matching 5280 Ambassador Ballpoint (+ $70) and/or Rollerball (+ $75).
Offering a bit of heft, the all-metal body features “5280” etchings on both the gold-plated cap band and finial. The snap-closure cap offers a satisfying click when closed, and while it posts snugly, it may be a bit top-heavy for some users. Partially gold-plated, the Schmidt nib is made of stainless steel and comes in a medium point only. Included in the 5280 Ambassador is an international standard converter, for use with your favorite bottled ink.
