As a follow-up to my previous post, I have played around with this unit a bit and I have to say I like it. The images are pretty decent, great for close-up inspection documentation. I don't find the ring light very useful, as the camera has an auto gain feature so it is only good if you need to get some extra light into deep cracks or uneven surfaces. But you can get some unwanted reflection from it as well. I doubt I would use the video feature, moving a part around would likely pull it in and out of focus unless you are just sliding it along the work surface. But I think it is worth the price, assuming you have a need for something like this :-)

TECENGHow does the camera attach?? Does the top part fit most DSLR cameras that you can just screw it on?

catgoddess11That question leads me to believe you don't understand how this product works. It is a stand-alone camera that plugs into your computer via USB. It IS the camera, it does not attach to one.

TECENGAh ok. There are higher end microscopes that you attach the camera to it and can take photos that way in addition to viewing on the computer screen. They used these all the time at the Diagnostic Laboratory where I used to work. I'm sure that was very expensive equipment

catgoddess11OK, now I understand your question. Yes, you are correct, that would have been much more expensive equipment!
