I got one of these and it's pretty well done for a little Bluetooth controller. The analog sticks are a little odd and have the anti-useful domed tops on them (as opposed to the correct, Xbox way of concave tops) but since I am using it on my Surface (for emulated old games) and RetroPie I do not use the analog sticks really at all.
The bluetooth connected correctly to my PC and my Surface. Games / emulators worked as they should. My phone also connected, but I was not about to start switching between the 5 modes to play the 4 or 5 phone games I actually play, which are fine on touch screen anyhow...
Plugged it in via the USB cable to the Retopie and configured just fine. Works really well there. A side note also: THANKS FOR ALLOWING CABLE CONNECTIONS! really, this was a big factor in me buying it.
Just a quick FYI: this will *NOT* act like an Xbox One or Xbox 360 controller. Running it on the Windows 10 app and streaming the Xbox to the PC results in no controller found. Also, Windows store games are really hostile towards non-official gamepads and not all configurable usually, so this won't work well for those, as all these games expect an Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller...

DizzyWaterIf you are not using the analog would the layout of the SFC30 or SNES30 be better? The control pad and buttons look a little cramped on this layout.

JacobHIt's more of a case of .. I was disappointed about the sticks but after I found out it wouldn't do anything with modern games on my PC anyway (I game more on the PC emulators, RetroPie and Xbox One) I didn't care much. And even if I need them they are not unusable, just not designed how I like them.
As far as cramped, yeah a little if you wanna use the sticks. They have the PlayStation problem of being badly designed domed sticks and being way too close together.
Final Note: Since I stream Xbox One to my PC sometimes, I wish it would work so I don't have to plug in my elite controller :/
DizzyWaterDid you try plugging it in and updating the firmware? I heard it's supposed support Xinput when wired in but not on bluetooth.

DizzyWaterStep 1: Update the firmware Step 2: Boot the controller into XInput mode. The manual is terrible at describing the three extra modes the controller has. The way you do it is to hold the power button and R1 to turn it on. Then plug it into your PC and let Windows pick up the drivers. Step 3: Play a game. Seriously. It just works. My only problem at this point is that I need to be able to use the menu/back button like the PS3/PS4/XB1/360 controllers' home buttons, but I'm figuring that out.
I recommend keeping the boot settings nearby for your convenience and different uses:

AyynoI tried all that... Xbox app for Windows will not see it as a controller. Here is what I ended up doing with it: RetroPie .. it's perfect for that. I'll bring a Xbox One controller I like more for portable gaming if it needs to be from the Windows Store or whatever. ...
DizzyWaterthe start + R method works just fine for me, i haven't even updated the firmware, I know its meant to be a retro contoller but I plan swap the X/Y and A/B to match the xbox layout that most pc games use

DizzyWaterWhat do you mean the xbox app won't recognize it? That's not what "xinput" means. Xinput is an API that allows applications to receive input from xbox controllers. It doesn't make your controller an xbox controller so the app won't see it as a controller for things like checking battery and stuff. At least I haven't gotten it to work that way. I'd imagine there's a bit more handshaking with the MS xbox apps and their hardware.
What it will do, however, is allow you to boot into xinput mode, start a game, and then play that game with the controller as if it was an xbox controller. It also only works wired.
I've had zero problems with it on several computers. If you need to re-bind anything you can use the app 8bitdo provides and connect via normal pc joystick mode.

DizzyWaterAhh okay I read this previous comment of yours and I see the issue you're having. Yeah, unless they find a way to spoof the controller itself as an 360/One controller, I doubt it'll work with streaming xbox to PC.
There may be some workarounds, however, like software that pretends its a 360 controller and accepts input from any controller. That may work, if it exists.
Just to clarify for others though: Booting into xinput mode and then playing xinput (controller, basically) compatible Steam games works 100% perfectly. The buttons map exactly how you expect them to.
HOWEVER, what DizzyWater is finding is that Windows Store games and streaming Xbox to PC don't work well or at all.
Here's hoping there's a patch to fix it for you, @DizzyWater!
