Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. In general we need the impression to be an 1) open jaw impression, and 2) to pass the second bend of your ear canal. Please refer to the first picture for a general instruction. We wish to highlight that, please pay attention to the orange coloured circle area, where we need it to be thick and extended.
In the second picture, you will see a good ear impression that particularly shows the orange circled area in picture 1 from a different angle. look at the thickness of that area. This is very important as the socket will be placed there, and if this part is missing, it may cause some fitting issue.
The third picture shows different views of a good impression. You can compare yours with this one, and do a self check first. You can also show these pictures to your audiologist before you get the impression done.
In the last picture, two impressions are compared against each other. The green one is considered as a good one, while the grey coloured one is actually missing many important details.
Hope these pictures are illustrative enough for your good impression making. Please kindly send us your impression pictures before you send it off to us.
Another note regarding the procedures after the drop ends:
1. Massdrop will first consolidate all your orders and info, then send it to us, 2. Once massdrop sends us your order details, they will make an announcement on this discussion page, listing all the instructions for shipping the impression, etc., and ask all participants to contact us (we will NOT have your contact information unless you reach out to us first! This I believe is Massdrop's privacy policy, thumbs up!) 3. Once you contacted us, we will prepare your order form, and all other detailed instructions, and reply your email. Then we will go a few rounds with each of you individually to finalise your order. At this stage you will have the chance to change your design, adding logos, or all other special requests. 4. Everything is settled, then you ship your ear impression to us, according to the instructions mentioned in the follow up email.
Please bear with us if we answer your email a bit slow after Step 3, you can imagine we will have a flood of emails coming in and need to prepare each of your highly customized order carefully. Thank you for the patience in advance!
