I just got mine in. That was SUPER fast.
I won't comment on the sound and bass until I give them some break in and try them out with a few amps for a few days, so I'll reply to this in about a week.
Build. Quality is very good. I wasn't expecting recessed connector, but my other 2 pin cables worked, so no problem.
Fit is good. They don't feel as tight as my Kumitate Lab KL-Kanons, but fit perfectly, as one would expect. The way the faceplate hole was sanded on the shell means that they lean out a tad when inserted. They stick out much less than my KL customs. Kind of making a "V" if you imagine. Left ear is basically like "\" and the right ear is like "/". Just different, not bad. The tips are also not quite as deep as I was expecting. Not bad though.
I'd say they are well worth the 300 bucks if you're looking for some gym IEMs or a "cheap" set. I'll try side sleeping with them tonight.
They have their place and are DEFINITELY worth the sub 300 bucks.

MluczkowI've tested it amped finally.
I did a direct comparison bass test against my Kumitate Lab KL-Kanon (6x BA). At lower volumes, the bass is good on both, and roughly the same quantity. Headroom is where the AAW falls over. It started clipping at about 55 volume, where my KLs didn't clip until roughly 85 (and at that point I could barely take the volume).
Other than the bass headroom, these things sound great. Certainly well worth the money, as they cost less than 20% what my KLs did. I'd say that they perform about 65-70% as well as the KL-Kanons.
Build quality is nowhere near the japanese hand crafted KLs either, but they don't feel like they are going to fall apart and are decent enough.
I'd go so far as to basically call these CIEMs "free".
Most high end places that do universals and customs charge about a $400 difference for the custom version. There you go. Free custom IEMs.
If you're looking into getting a pair of these next time they drop, and it's your first CIEM, go for it!
BUT... know that once you get them, and you get used to them, there is a lot more farther down the rabbit hole to go than this...

MluczkowHi! Kevin here. Thanks for the photos and comparison! I have to personally disagree on the workmanship assessment though. Judging by the photos, we are at least comparable in terms of build quality. Matter of fact, AAW also does reshell work and we have experiences with dozens of CIEM brands, that includes kumitate. As you can see, just like Fitear and Vision Ear, Kumitate uses the acrylic pouring technique, by filling up large chunk of the ciem internal space with acrylic. It kinda is the "easy" way as the pouring will cover a lot of the blemishes and dust build up in the shell. Even though the filled space will create a crystal like presence, AAW has to stay away from such technique as we need as much hollow space for the dynamic driver and the pouring is dangerous to the dynamic driver. You will find our shells to be smooth and spotless inside out, with no acrylic build up at all. We take pride in our workmanship, and we are sure that we are among the elites in that regard. It is simple to get to that conclusion because we have seen everything, from UE, Westone, JH, Fitear, VE, Noble to Kumitate, we have seen it all.
Sound wise, do compare the Kumitate with one of our higher end models, that will be the fair fight. Our new flagship is due in a couple days. Do try it out if you get the chance:)
