Please, I don't understand. You need a sequencer application on PC to use this, right? Should it be a specific app or a range of? Are there any for Linux?

Barafu_AlbinoThis is an Ableton controller for Ableton Live DAW software. Ableton Live works on PC or Mac.
You can probably use the Push as a general MIDI controller, but you lose most of the functionality.

Wow. Actually bought one of these less than a week ago. Anybody considering buying this: you won't be disappointed.

I'm gonna have to agree with most of the others by saying the incentive to buy this is low. The price could be better.

Not enough of a price reduction to make it worth it unfortunately. Come on MiniDrop!

The full software package is another $499 - if you want more than three instruments....

IvabignI'd guess a lot of the people looking to buy a $600 Ableton-exclusive MIDI controller are already bedroom producers, or at least familiar with Ableton. Besides, even Live Intro supports VSTs and Audio Units if you're on a Mac. You can source your plugins (instruments, effects, etc) elsewhere -- there's tons of free ones.
If you want to jump right into making music with no prior experience, I would probably advise against dropping this much cash right away until you can discover what your preferences are. You would still have a pretty solid platform to make music or even DJ with from just the Push and Live Intro though.

I freaked out when I saw the Push had showed up as a drop, but like everyone else is saying, the price just isn't quite cutting it for me. I'm pretty sure the Push was cheaper last holiday season directly from Ableton.

Sadly at $524.99 + $51.59 shipping, these are way too expensive for me.

I got mine for a better discount when I preordered it before it was ever released. Guitar Center/Musician's Friend regularly do 15% off coupons which drops the price to $510. If you know someone who works there you can get 20% off.

Woah, this is completely unexpected.
Can we start group buys for synths and other instruments?
