I have this headlamp, I like it a lot. I got the SST-20 LED version, you can use AA, Nimh AA and 14500 lithium ion. I found the beam is suitable for hiking and close up work. It has stepped ramping which for me is unusual, as my other light with ramping is the BLF Q8 which is smooth ramping. I do like the ramping feature . The headband is excellent, very comfortable, if I could buy another Acebeam headband I will. I found the over the head band was not needed and I was able to remove it without any difficulty. My only nit with this headlamp being left handed I adjust the beam up and down with my left hand and when I grab the end of the light I inadvertently unscrew the the tail-cap. With free shipping this is a good deal I haven't seen a better price in fact I paid more for mine

darkpanaceaPress and hold the button to ramp up and down, the headlamp flashes (flickers) to indicate the end of the ramp. You can stop at any point during the ramp cycle . One click from off turns on the light, it has memory mode. One click turns it off, there are flashing modes too.
