Why anyone would buy a spindle drive designed for "shock resistance" over an SSD is just mind boggling. On top of that there's no specifics on the drive itself other than storage capacity. USB 3.1 is worthless if the drive is a slow laptop spindle drive. The lack of details on what "encryption" HDD means is also misleading. There are self encrypting drives out there and the attempt here is to make you think this is one but it doesn't seem like it is. More specifics should be provided.

SantiagoDracoI am one of the customers that bought this product and NO , no one can not claim that this HDD has "encryption" . The windows software that is available on their website does the encrytion only if you transfer the files using that app. Schock resistant HDD vs a SSD. It's about the cost . A 2 TB SSD would be quite expensive.

damxOf course I know SSDs are more expensive. My point regarding shock resistance is that if shock resistance was your concern then buying a spindle drive over an SSD makes no sense imo. That said if a ton of space was critical and cost was an issue then that would be an exception of course. Thanks for the info on the software. I am sure there are people who were wondering.
