I got excited (like an idiot) that the 1tb version of this drive was somehow $55 here - since it's listed as 1tb in details. Then I hit the 'buy' button and was disappointed. The same 1tb drive is on newegg for $150 and cheaper on Amazon.

Why do I even check Drop/Massdrop these days? 1TB version is going for $149.99 - $20 coupon ($129.99) on Amazon right now.

massdrop is stupid as fk these days. scam company really, they just rely on their headphone niche community and shills like Zreviews and other youtubers to fake hype up their products for quick sales. they don't actually care about the products like they used to when the site launched. i don't buy from this site anymore

Yeah, nice try MD, but still pricier than elsewhere on sale, and SSDs sales are frequent these days. June 9 - prices are completely out whack. Equivalent SSDs cost 40%-50% less across the board. MD's only hope is dumb buyers overseas as now they DO ship it internationally lol

Shipping there is also much, much faster than the cheapest and crudest form of shipping MD selects for their stuff. It feels like they use camels to ship stuff around the world. So you wait for months for your stuff to get to you from MD vs a few days or a week from Newegg/Amazon. And that's ignoring the wait time for MD actually takes to ship out ANYTHING at all. I used to put up with MD's shipping slowness when they offered a deal. But now that the deals are elsewhere, that's where I spend my money.

You should put NVMe  in the title, otherwise the unknowing will assume it is a SATA drive with is incompatible. PCIe is not a good enough descriptor.

ahhh ok. thx for clarifying that. so whether ur M2 supports PCIe depends on the motherboard? is it mutually exclusive, the M2 port either supports PCIe or SATA?

Yeah, it's motherboard specific, mostly determined by chipset.

About $5 - $7 cheaper than Amazon. But then you have to factor in shipping and the 5 week wait.

It's free shipping in the USA and I know how much bulk shipping cost so for a light weight thing like this it's not even more than $5

This listing says that its speeds are 3,500 read and 3,000 write. The box the device comes in says it only does 1200 write. Bench marking confirmed this to be true. Stay away!
