I picked this up on the last drop and so far I'm pretty happy with it. I bought it to replace a Hario grinder that I have because this one takes up a lot less space in my cabinet. I like the sleek design and although the cut-out window is some random, weird shape, it does allow me to see how much I have left which my old one didn't. This one also cuts a lot faster and I think the narrow cylinder shape really helps that.
Actually doing the grinding is a bit of a pain, literally. The hard edges on the arm and the smooth knob on the end aren't very practical. The edge of my hand scrapes against the arm so I slide my grip up the knob which makes it easier to slip off. I've also found that the best way to grind is to hold the body up off the counter because the very small and very slippery base does not like to stay on the counter. Fortunately, it gets the job done so fast that most of these problems are brief, but if you have any issues with grip or if comfort is important, then skip this item.
Overall it's a 4 out of 5. I'll probably add some clear silicone to the base to make my life a little easier and the cut-out window should just be an oval. You should be able to tell by looking at it that it isn't built for comfort but it is a nice, sleek, space-saving design and good grinder.

JBI_chiDid you have the Hario Skerton grinder? I have that one and have found it pretty difficult to hold on to and grind consistently since it's a weird shape, and the hopper is open and allows the beans to bounce out some times. Curious if you've found this to be a better grinder for ergonomics and efficiency compared to the Hario.

natakuYes - that's the exact one I have. I'm probably going to stick with the ad-hoc one. I find it to be a lot more efficient even if it's less ergonomic and the trade-off feels worth it.
