Realistically, how much cargo could you carry in a kayak like this? I'm looking for something to use for kayak camping, but I'm tight on storage space at home. So - this could be a solution if I could carry, say 40 litres of cargo. (To pick a number out of my head...) Any thoughts? Thanks!

BAACDepending on how tall you are, you aren't going to get much space inside the kayak for storage. If you want more space you are going to have to go with the Expedition or one of the two seat models (as far as I know, all will reconfigure for 1 person). They do make a 30L deck bag that could strap on the front, pretty easily. You will get a small space by your feet and a small space behind the seat. But, it ain't much. Certainly anything squishy like a hammock or tarp could shove in there. So, you might get enough shoved in there that the 30L bag could handle what's left. Worst case, there are tie downs on the back, too. Not sure if the 30L bag will fit, but probably. Certainly a 20L bag. So, you can make it work, but it won't all be stowed away inside the kayak. Mind you, I haven't actually sat in one of these, but I *just* purchased an almost identical version they make exclusively for another vendor that is 5" longer (all else the same). I was hoping that would be big enough. I'm sure I can make it work for a short trip, but it will be snug. For what it is worth, I'm 5' 10". If you are shorter, the seat will move up and you get a bit more space. If you are taller, you'll be giving up that extra foot space in front. If you are a lot taller, look for another model. sf

Exactly what paddle and pump is being sold for $50? It may be better to get a quality pump and paddle elsewhere...or this could be the best option. We have no way of knowing.

Just wanted to comment that I hope this comes back real soon! I've been eyeing this kayak for a while, and am annoyed with myself for missing the drop on here. Edit: I ended up getting impatient and buying this someplace else because I didn't expect Drop to get it back so quickly! Nice job on that. Whoever else is thinking of picking one up, do it. You won't be disappointed. This thing is made of top quality materials and construction, it performs like a hardshell, and it's incredibly portable.

Can this kayak withstand oyster shell beds in a salt water tidal creek (South Carolina area) without being damaged or sinking?
mass1The hull is constructed with 1000 denier PVC tarpaulin with polyester scrim. It is very durable and puncture resistant, but it is not impenetrable.

Inquiry; in the description/specs the additional foot pump is posted at $40, but in check out it posts at $10. Which is it? And, is this an advanced elements foot pump or other? I’m wondering if the foot pump comes with adapters for this kayak and if the valves/orifices for the kayak are universal. Thanks, much!

OnefreemanThere’s no details on the pump that I can see, but it’s listed as $10 to add on the pump, $50 for the pump plus paddle.
