Hi-FierSo what you're saying is that the Heaven III, which costs more than twice as much, is the better earphone based on your experiences owning and/or listening to both, while also taking into consideration your personal listening preference? Makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion.

tubeamplifierEnjoy your $20.00 earphone which are probably really $10.00 -$13.00 to make. There are better offerings out there. These are not amazing or anything. Very laid back treble, no clarity in highs. Ok bass but not fast or accurate. They will not out do a balanced custom driver for accuracy and speed and clarity which the Heaven are. Get both and see for yourself.
Also a serious IEM wil NOT have an inline mic on it. Serious quality IEM's are used on a serious DAP's and equipment. If they have a mic they are for phones and an IEM that has a mic on it to do calls is for phones aren't serious audio quality devices . Anything that has a mic inline is not audiophile quality and is not designed to be. Serious audiophile gear does not and should not have a .70 cent costing button mic inline ie: Final Audio does not among others. It's cheesy think about it.
Find one $800.00 IEM that does, or a custom one, you won't. You bottle neck the quality of the cable (if it's even high quality) going though a circuit board and buttons and a mic. It's also just another thing to break or fail or wear out over time. No thanks. Keep it high quality all they way to the driver with a high quality OFC or Silver etc.
If you want something basic these are good and better compared to Apple or Jbuds or Skullcandy.

Hi-FierWhat do you mean laid back treble? Did you really hear it? Not everyone like BAs stupid fast decay, emotionless sound. Moreover, it can be only good for vocal! Heaven is reputed and I believe it's good. Actually it's Heaven 3 designed to be used on smartphone. It's very sensitive. M4 is much harder to drive. It's as hard to drive as Havi. Your Heaven is ending soon. Be hurry, get your second pair, third pair, fouth pair... lol

Hi-FierBTW, learn some basic logic. From the proposal - "Good (high end) phones do not have mic" you cannot derive the conclusion - "phones with mic are not good."

tubeamplifierWhat are you comparing to what is "Good?" Anyways, learn what "High Quality Audio" or the definition of "Audiophile" means too. Guess you never hear of anything high quality or high end. Also guess you never heard the saying "It's only as good as the weakest link." A mic inline IS the weakest link. Go ahead and put Walmart tires on your Lambo.
Even the graph on these is all over the place. Graphs don't always mean everything cause people can't hear well etc. but it does show they are not neutral, not by far. If you want neutral look at RE-400. They are true high quality neutral that have excellent timbre and spaciousness and nothing is overlapping nor bloated.
You can't answer calls on a DAP, why cause it't not a cell phone! Duh! These are made for a cell phone s which are full of interference and plagued with cheap Chinese DAC's inside. Only recently the LG V10 is a good phone/DAP. If you use these on a LG V10 that makes more sense as that is what these are for. Anything else is just for on the go not serious as a pure true DAP with a dedicated DAC.
Plus you failed to link or show me $800.00 or more IEM's then that have a mic. Prove me wrong! Good luck. LOL

tubeamplifierI already have a pair as others (many other do) and there are already a huge following for years for Final Audio Heaven II and their other models. No they are not JUST for vocal. They are for all genre. They just have VERY GOOD vocal quality where as most IEM's are overly bloated with bass and that spills into the mid range. Even the Havi's sound muddy compared to the Heaven. They are a bloated mess. YES I have them and heard them and they are overly hyped as much as the Vsonic VDS3s. Total vocal bloated sloppy mess.
Not even multi drivers can compare to a well designed balanced driver. Final Audio is legendary and you can't compare a custom balanced driver for dynamic. Dynamic is old archaic technology and sounding. The best accurate sounding anything is balanced armatures and custom one's are even better. You probably will never have heard anything better than $50.00 of anything so what you don't know won't hurt you and that's fine. Enjoy your IEM. Even the graph is a mess. Even the RE-400 for $10.00 more is WAY better if you want accuracy and clarity with perfect timbre and no sibilance.
No the Heaven is not for phones, never will be and never has been. Not sure where you ever got that information and it's completely wrong. They are just very efficient nothing else.

Hi-FierI don't care whatever audiophile. Audiophile is for musician who play music for a living. I'm a layman, I just want to enjoy music. To many nonmuscians, audiophile means no bass. lol You still didn't get my point and seems you know little about reasonable argument. Will never talk with you on the issue of mic.

I have IE800, which is much better than those BAs. More details, more dyanmic, moreover, then you know what is bass. Oh, sorry, I forgot you are audiophile, you do not need bass. lol

tubeamplifierEven BA need time to break in and get used to the clean accuracy but if you don't like them that's ok. :)
Try the Ostry then. You will like them, they are excellent . You won't want the one's off Massdrop as they are the KC06A. Go to Amazon and get the KC06 they are cheaper. You will love them! They are dynamic drivers.
I have them and they are WAY more musical than the Havi and better built and don't need an amp like the Havi do and are VERY VERY detailed with great bass. They are tad on the edge sibilant but with tip rolling or comply's they are very good. :) They are mid forward too and they handle all genre well. I've had mine for 2 years and they are well made.
I had the Havi and they broke with no usage. The shell cracked as they were sold as new from Havi but were really factory refurbished. You will take your chances. I was lucky to get my money back 100% as I proved they were not NEW. I will not give them a penny again.
Good luck.

tubeamplifierWelcome. As mentioned the KC06A are better than Havi.
Now here is the difference between the two KC06 and KC06A.
Both KC06 and KC06A deliver with a top notch performance!  Starting with KC06, Is a very well balanced sound with a touch of mid-centric brightness.  Starting with a bass, you get a great quality with a detailed performance.  Can clearly hear separation of sub-bass and mid-bass, but sub-bass quantity is just there to give sound a body rather than a rumbling to make you feel it.  Mid-bass punch is snappy and quite satisfying. The bass feels a step above of the reference performance, and it's pleasantly well controlled within it's frequency range.  Mids are very detailed, clear, slightly upfront but still in great balance with the rest of the sound.  Their performance translates into great vocal delivery, very organic, with a touch of brightness, but still smooth.  Treble is well extended, detailed, with enough brightness without being too overwhelming, and still very easy on your ears.  For the comparison, if I consider RE400 to have warm reference sound, KC06 has a balanced reference sound.
Now, the KC06A kicks it up a notch into a direction of a more commercial sound signature with a slight v-shape cut (relative to KC06).  Luckily, they did it a smart way without doing any extreme tuning to kill the mids which sounds a bit warmer in comparison to KC06.  The bass here gets a refreshed quantity of rumbling sub-bass that can even put a smile on some bassheads.  You still get a great separation between sub and mid bass where the later one is on par with KC06 performance.  Bass is still well controlled without spilling into lower mids or the rest of frequency range.  Mids are still detailed but now just a bit recessed to bring up a power of the low end.  Ostry didn't reduce the quality of the mids except for smoothing out some brighter peaks, and just slightly scaled down the quantity while keeping most of the original attributes from KC06.  Treble is still well extended, has a similar crisp performance without any hint of sibilance.  Also, don't find any significant difference in sound-stage width.  A principal change from KC06 and KC06A is enhanced/additional sub-bass and slightly recessed warmer mids.
Now, when it comes to ergonomics of the design and it's comfortable fitment and the sound signature - both KC06 and KC06A are identical that can be worn over the year or under.
Most importantly the KC06A that is off Massdrop has a revised cable since it's newer and people have reported it failing and oxygenating causing a green color that's visible and this will eventually cause a breakage in the line. The original KC06 did not and do not have this issue. I purchased mine off Amazon from SHENZHENAUDIO for $46.00
Hope that helps.

Mshove44Right as the mic is not permanently built in cause it would not be considered high quality then. The mic is only an optional convenience for a phone, and phones are not hi-fi audio gear. If you are going to buy $1,500 IEM to connect to listen to audio on a cell phone thats like buying a HD LCD tv and connect a VCR to it to with RCA cables. Pointless.

Hi-FierThis part always puzzle me. What problem would the mic on an IEM cause? I am starting to use the T10i more and so far so good. So not sure where is the quality issue. And to be honest, I enjoy my RHA more than the lower end (price wise) Campfire. I use the IEMs with regular phone+K18 or directly with V10/Axon7 (haven't tried extensively on V20 yet). *This is a discussion, not a challenge.*

oneeyedgooseI will leave you with two final points and I'm done. Go and think what you like. These are facts NOT opinions.
Fact #1. Go to any studio that either plays, monitors, edits, or records music. Look at the equipment. You will NEVER find a mic or anything inline like a remote control on any headphone. Ask them why. Anything you say further they will laugh at you.
Fact#2. DAP's are not cell phones, Fiio, AK, Cowon, Opus, etc, they never will be. A headphone or IEM that has a mic on it is purely made for a cell phones. Call any of them and say you want to be able to make a phone call on their DAP cause your $30.00 IEM has an inline mic and you want to use it. They will laugh at you.
Fact#3. If an IEM or headphone is using OFC or Silver cables, and has an inline control, it will defeat the purpose and anything inline inhibits the quality of the cable in the first place. Call any professional maker or designed or audio cables and ask for the best quality cable which will cost more than 1/2 the IEM or headphone, then ask to put a mic inline, they will laugh at you. Most cheapo $10-$50 you won't tell any difference as they don't even use quality signal cables so it won't matter.
Fact#4. Mic's inline are purely a convenience for cell phones nothing else. Cell phone are not true audio quality devices NO matter how good you think it is or can be or sounds, they just are not. Again call any DAP company, ie: Astell & Kern and say your cell phone is better than their DAP. They and even others on here will laugh at you.
If you are not serious and just an average Joe, and not serious about audio quality and can't even tell the difference between an Octive, then non of these things will matter and you will never know the difference. You fall in the "What you don't know won't hurt you" category, but also know that just because it's something you don't know does not mean it does not exist or is there, you are just oblivious to it.

jleonpSorry lame example. Of course a commercial produced can have an optional or not. Have you seen a Formula One or a drag racing car with AC? A SERIOUS racing car will not have AC. Every ounce is shaved off for weight for performance, they are not going to put a heavy AC in it. If you were an Indy car racing car designer and you put an AC in it, your car would come in last every time no matter how good your driver and everyone would laugh at you. Not even 24 hour Le Mans cars have AC, not even Rally Cars. You gave a lame example sorry. You actually justified my point even more. Thanks!
