Extremely uncomfortable
I didn't expect much from the sound quality given the fact that these are gaming oriented and inexpensive. I had hoped the mic would be better than my laptop's included mic, but I didn't even get that far. The fit of these in my ear is just abysmal. After no more than 5 minutes my ears are sore and I no longer want to wear them, which even if everything else was stellar, makes them completely unusable for me.

jib9001Clearly you don't know much about how to review audio stuff. All I see here is a very new reviewer here. The things you complain about are irrelevant to the quality for the price. Which they are worth it.

BlakeBI am new to reviewing, and I'm not really trying to be a reviewer exactly, I just wanted to share my experience I would argue that them being painful for me to wear is relevant at any price, which is why I don't recommend them, even if they're cheap. If you liked them, and you didn't have the issue I did, that's great, but I don't appreciate saying my experience doesn't matter because they're cheap.

BlakeBTo be fair, I should not have had "mediocre sound" in the title of my review, because that's not actually any part of the reason of that I gave a poor review. But I stand by the fact that the content of my review was both justified and relevant

BlakeBAll that may be true...but honestly...did you really have to be a douchebag about it? Clearly you don't know how to talk to people. All I see is an audiophile snob trying to take the piss out of someone. You've been on this site for 3 years and you got one review. Relax, HiFi Boss.

jib9001Was it the inside of your ears that hurt, or somehow the hard plastic of the buds themselves pushing against something? I've found that Comply foam eartips make a HUGE difference for almost any earbud. I have absolutely hated the fit of every earbud with a silicone tip I've ever tried in my life, but frequently the exact same buds would become amazing if you put foam tips on them. (I plan on ordering these when I get home tonight, under the assumption I can figure out which Comply size is appropriate.)

Entropy512The hard plastic was pushing against my ears when I tried them but I didn't try any tips other than the included ones. I have particularly small ears though now that I think about it, that may be part of the problem

jib9001You didn't point out what's the mic of your laptop tho if it's relevant at this point of the discussion??....and you couldn't pretend to have good sound with no good seal. That's the basic I think in the earphone's world, being a Head-fi or not. And if your ear shape is weird (like mine) you can't be complaining about it honestly. It's not about being for gaming and cheap. I'm so freaking tired of hearing Cheap = bad sound that give me noxious feeling.

Entropy512Yes, I put the calipers on mine and measured essentially 5 mm (narrow part of the bore). That matches the 500 series Comply. Ordered TZ-500, and they fit snugly but well. Medium fits me - and holds it in place well. Yay!
