Mine came today, took 3 days in total from date shipped to being in my hands, but I had to go pick it up at the post office and I got hit with an unexpected shipping fee ($44 CAD). It's working great for me so far on my Win10 PC, let's see how it'll fair. I just wish I realized it didn't come with a USB cable, luckily I have one from an external hard drive to use.
Hi, how much was the shipping cost to you, for this drop??
I live in Canada, and I'm wondering if this worth it or not With the added costs.
I was charged $225.74USD on Massdrop, which came out to $304.72 CAD. When I went to pick it up after it was shipped to my post office, it was another $44 CAD. Total comes out to around $349 CAD.
So, do you think the unit was worth the extra cost, or do you think you could have purchased the device cheaper in Canada?? Thanks for your input...
It's about $50 CAD less than Amazon, etc. (they're listing at $399.99), so I think it was worth it on here overall. It was quite the wait though.
What was the $44 for? Imagine it was duty, brokerage and tax or a combination. What shipping method did they use? Have seen a Canadian dealer carry it for $399 free shipping, so maybe GST on top.
They shipped through DHL but to the post office for pickup instead of to my house. $44 was paid to get it, I figured it was just typical DHL stuff because every time I've had something shipped by them, I end up having to pay ontop of what I've already paid online.
Yup, that is why i always ask what shipper is used. Some are worse than others. What pisses me off is when you think you are using postal service, but it's only Canada Post once it hits the border. Does not seem worth it with the added fees and current low Canadian dollar. Thanks!
No problem, glad to be able to help out!
