Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

EDIT: On mine, USB works with no discernible audio lag 95% of the time. I'm fine with this.
The driver install went smoothly, but my audio selection stuff froze afterwards, so I reset the computer. After that, it worked, but Foobar took about 10 seconds to initialize each song--not a good sign. This delay was solved by turning the TEAC off and on again. Not sure what this was all about.
Everything sounded good, so I loaded up Overwatch. There was about a 1 second delay on everything, as others have reported.
I downloaded LatencyMod from http://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/solving-dpc-latency-issues/ to try to figure out what was going on. It appears, indeed the USB driver (doesn't seem to be TEAC's problem at all).
I checked to make sure the USB drivers were up to date, then updated to the most recent motherboard drivers.
Reboot 2.
Loaded up a game again, and the latency was reduced slightly, but nowhere close to playable.
I have switched over to the optical out on my computer sound card. The sound seems to be just as good, and there is no latency at all. They sound great, drive my speakers well, and it's great to have the subwoofer output. I'm pleased with the purchase, but can't recommend it to anyone who doesn't have an optical output for Windows 10.

I will certainly check to see if there are any new updated to my motherboard's USB drivers. It's an ASRock z77 Extreme 4 which still receives fairly regular updates via Microsoft's update service. But, we all know how reliable that can be.
