Honestly not sure why these are getting listed in the Audiophile end of things—they're not. I would not even expect to actually see them in studio. They're gigging cans for working DJs. And at that they excel. Feather light but still deliver the goods!
I've used these for over two years now and they utterly blow away other pro DJ cans. I've used Sony, Technics and Sennheiser—all unreliable for heavy daily use, each having issues with the connection between the band and the driver failing after a few months. It took two years for my TMA-2's band to fail and Aiaiai had a replacement to me in a few days. Very hard to complain versus getting nothing but accusations of misuse out of the warranty departments from the rest.

randallagordonWell no offense but that sounds like a load of hogswallop. Sure these sound alright (the studio preset). But they are really fragile as all hell on the headband. As for sound quality and isolation (isolation being good for dj's) there are far better things on the market than these.

Zer0lagConsidering I actively show people every chance I get how durable the plastic is by bending them to their limit, I'm not at all phased by a failure after over two years. They're more durable than anything else out there under $300 thanks to how light and simple they are—and good luck replacing just the part that broke on those! And to qualify, I'm only supporting them for gigging and heavy daily use. They're flat out not audiophile or even studio grade. If anyone needs cans for listening enjoyment, plenty of other far better options here on Massdrop!

randallagordonProbably should have clarified. I didn't agree with the second half of your initial post. The part about Sennheiser dj cans breaking easily (I can't speak for sony or audiotechnica dj cans, never user their dj stuff). from the sennheiser dj headphones I have used over the years I haven't had those sorts of problems. I also forgot to mention that I had logged a complaint with aiaiai about the headband (I did mention it in another post somewhere else, but i don't expect you to have read that), but thwey were unwilling to send me a replacement, this was after they acknowledged there was a problem fyi. It was probably due to the fact that I reside in South Africa, and had used a third party service to get them here. I even offered to pay the shipping, but they said no. I am glad however that you had a good experience with them. Obviously I agree with the first part of your post about them not being audiophile, and about them being light, but being a bit tight on the ears in my opinion, while some find it fine.
