I can make a few quick comparisons but I know I don't hear every nuance the way some reviewers do (or claim to). I have the K553 and K267 (and K550 and K712). As far as fit, the K267 is tighter and has smaller ear cups (both diameter and depth) than the K553. To me, the sound on the K267 is superior to any of the others I have. The bass goes deeper with better accuracy and texture but it isn't overpowering to the upper ranges. I find the midrange and treble accurate and smooth. The K553 by comparison doesn't go quite as low and doesn't have the accuracy in the low notes it can get to. The midrange is accurate on the K553 but the treble is a little hot.
Thanks very much for your reply! Helped a lot! So do you mean these are better than K712 too? How about the clarity and soundstage?
Hi I've owned the K712 for about 4 months now and can make a solid argument for or against it. Hands down the 712 is an amazing headphone, and I certainly noticed a HUGE difference once it was burned in for about 150 hours. They also like to be fed some fair amperex so don't forget that.
To be fair the K712 absolutely dump on these headphones, though either are good for musical listening. This one might do slammier bass but that's an obvious.
I actually really like the bass on the k712, punchy, overall balanced headphone with a bit of mid emphasis and darkness. Amazing set of cans IMO.
Also I seriously doubt the k267 will go down to 5hz response
Don't forget K712 are more expensive and the target market is very different. Even if K267 can go down to 5Hz u won't hear it :) Also K712 are open cans, while K267 are fully closed.
They are probably the two most different headphones I have. The K712 beats the K267 for comfort and spacious sound. I use mine at home with a DAC and headphone amplifier. I think the K267 is slightly more detailed, especially in the bass region, and of course it isolates better and is far more portable.
for what it's worth i like the sound on the K267 more than the K7xx, it's going to be completely subjective so unless you know that someone has the same taste as you, it's kind of meaningless for one to say that they think X sounds better than Y; also I don't like the look or build quality of the K7xx.. it feels like I have UFOs landing perpendicularly on my head and the band plastic seems like they sourced it from a company that makes high quality drinking straws.. I suppose if you have a K267 that is prone to the band snapping then that's even worse, but my pair is holding up fine and I love the metal hinges and cups
