I think the reason that all these people commenting to inquire the lack of a "bump" is because that's just it; the bump doesn't exist. It might have for some period of time, but it's likely they've simply put a stronger material inside the plastic housing surrounding the original weak area. After talking to a member of Head-Fi who had received the updated version of the 267 a little over a year ago, it was confirmed that his pair does not have this "bump" either. That said, I'm still very confused as to why Will had written that he could feel the "bump", because it rather seems to appear that there wasn't any.
@William_Shiu, that is very interesting. I fail to see any dents in either of the pictures, however. Perhaps you can point them out? Do you think these are marks that could have formed from the shipping? After thoroughly inspecting my pair, I can confidently say there are no signs of damage or mishandling. Actually, when I first opened my pair they left some black smears on my hands somehow, leaving me to think they were recently on the assembly line. It's a rather odd situation we have, it seems.

TastyPastryGood on you to receive a perfect pair mate; however, I believe I am not the only person receiving defective item in this drop if you went through the previous comments. Someone has reported about a problematic hinge on his pair very recently.
In regards to the bump concern, I simply cannot speak for AKG of why it's there or not as I do not work for them. Nevertheless, if my memory is correct, we did ask MD to clarify about the bump at the beginning of this drop. And I assume at least few of us who decided to join were based on the information that provided by MD. In this case I think it is fair enough for people to bring up their concerns, that's all.
I feel sorry if you can't see the details from my photos, most importantly, CS of MD has received photos about my defective pair and they promise to arrange a replacement right away.

TastyPastryIn addition, according to what you have said, that you think your pair are possibly assembled recently. If you are right, then that would be very interesting since we were told this drop was selling "B stock" which are supposedly made awhile ago with the outdated packaging. Just my two cents.
CS from MD also has asked me if the damage could be caused by shipping. To be fair for the logistic staff, the package was delivered to me in an extremely tidy condition and the headphone was unopened inside. Speaking from experience, MD always have their items packed nicely, so I don't think the shipping process is the cause for this time.

dennis.chungwell just to play devils advocate here, mine came with the same black smear marks on them, i even thought it was scratches. but i wanted to listen to them first before i got upset, so gave them a test drive for about an hour, took them off, noticed black residue on my hands, and no more "scratch" marks. Just my experience however not trying to confirm or deny anyone else experience with their purchase.

dennis.chungHi Dennis, mine definitely has scratches and dents deep into the metal; however, it might be worth giving yours a gentle clean, see whether those marks will come off. If it does, then you are all good. Good luck :)

William_ShiuHi William, after the gentle clean..one can be removed!! the other one was not. but scratch mark is not so clear....i try to focus on listening music and not think about the scratch~~~good luck for everyone to get good one!!

dennis.chungInitially I was struggling about whether I should send mine back for replacement or not. But since the right side is overly scratched here and there, so I sent it off yesterday (cost US$80 for postage). Haven't heard anything back from MD yet. Finger crossed.

DROP BMR1 Broken?
Can anyone help me with this? Went away for dinner and came back home to my speakers making this static sound(Video Link). Its like this both in Line In and Bluetooth mode. These speakers were super super hot but I was told that it was normal for it to be this way. Sucks that literally I am just about two months out of the 1 year warranty :/ If anyone can help me that'd be great.

Impressive warranty service. Real quick. I needed to return my 6xx for a buzzing in the right speaker. I inquired with the manufacturer regarding the two year warranty and was batted around a couple of times before being directed back to Drop. Drop then covered the warranty even though it was a couple of days past the purchase date of the warranty’s terms. I’m not stating you will have the same results.
