I didn't get any of the aforementioned problems that other people got.
I am currently very happy with my new headphones apart from the huge 3m straight cable ... it wont fit into any of my pockets so i might look into getting a 1.2/1.5m cable if i can find one. meanwhile im stuffing my hoodie pocket with the coiled cable.
my serial number was UT3474-01xxxx so its the newer batch but i didnt see the little bump so i guess they just revised the plastic
all-in all i would give these headphones a 7/10 build quality since the plastic is still a concern but hey, if you dont take them out and make them your home headphones, then $130+shipping and $33 import in my case was damn worth these headphones. now all i need is an O2 Odac/amp and my audio setup will consist of a v-moda xs, shure se 215, k267 and a retired (and broken) LP2. probably gonna keep these cans at home and use my xs and get a pair of the crossfade wireless sometime in the upcoming future since i like the build quality of my v-modas better and the sound is very satisfying too. have to mention that i managed to break my xs TWICE! and both times the same way, i disregarded using the provided case and sat on them while they were in my soft bag breaking the size regulation. v-moda fixed everything up really nice tho and i continue using them to this day and hopefully further into the future aswell.
