View Full Discussion Put regular HM5 pads on mine, they are much much more comfortable and if there was a sonic change, it was an improvement, not going to spend any time comparing though. Dunno what the memory foam pads do, but they probably leave smaller holes for the ear due to being thicker (wider? difference between inner and outer radii is greater :D). Had these lying around, see no reason going for memory foam at least for now.
Very nice! I am definitely looking at getting taller cushions. The stock cushions, while soft, do not quite fit my ears. It gets uncomfortable after a while. I'll probably wait a little to see if any other adventurous sound connoisseurs find a replacement cushion that has either beneficial or no effect on sub-bass, and creates better isolation as well.
I did the same thing. Putting oval pads on round headphones looks a bit strange but they fit so much better. Perfectly rounds pads are silly to start with. Form over function. I was ready to sell these cans until I put the HM5's on them. Now I love the fit and sound. They are some creaky cans though when putting them on and adjusting so they always make me nervous considering all the breakage reports. So far so good.
Agree with everything you say. I have a k551 I am going to sell. Before the HM5 pads, I couldn't justify selling it, I was sure I would regret it, now I think they (the k267) sound considerably better (getting used to them + a little pads probably), and they are comfortable enough.
The creaking really does worry me though and I wonder how soon they will snap. If they get at least a year I will probably be yearning for a new closed can anyway :)
