We've all seen these pictures earlier in the discussion. None of us have this.
I never claimed these were new pictures, rather showing it for people that don't have the time or want to spend the effort going through 233 pages. Here's a picture of mine - I can both see and feel the bump.
Now that is interesting. Yes, your bump is clearly there. Mine is absolutely flat. If you look at it from the side, the surface is the same height. I'd really like to get a comment from a Massdrop representative here. Maybe an inquiry towards AKG as to why there are units in this drop of different make. It was confirmed by Will that all of the models had the bump, and that all of the models were made after the improvement in build.
Exactly... If AKG would only confirm/deny the rumors, then people would be so much more comfortable in their decision to either buy or not buy. Just guessing, but perhaps AKG doesn't want to say anything concrete about it because they are afraid of agitating their distributors - if any shops are holding the old models and customers can readily identify them, they would be losing sales and be stuck with inventory. I think that's stupid though, considering how so many people are hesitant to buy these headphones because they're not sure whether or not the issue is fixed, and also by leaving the old stock out there, a first time AKG buyer might be so disappointed they might shun the brand for life.
