What would be a good portable Dac/Amp to use with my HD6xx and Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone?
I am new to this hobby. I purchased a HD6XX and plan to use it with my Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone, that has a 3.5mm jack. I was wondering if I needed a portable dac/amp or just a portable amp and if so what would one recommend? Any assistance one could provide, would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Haz

...which happens to be an over-the-ear AND on-ear headphone at the same time. Meaning there is a full but shallow circumferential ear cushions with a (memory?) foam pad inside resting on top of the ear. I can only guess this was done for isolation and/or portability. I find it weirdly comfortable (because I didn't expect it to be) and have used them for 3-4 hours straight without discomfort. That said, anyone with overly large, protruding and/or other abnormal ears might not find them as comfortable.
I found these to benefit from amping (home Schiit stack and portable CCE), but more so in refinement rather than outright night-and-day difference.
Please share which ear pads you switched to!
My one concern with them comes from the hinge system on the AKG. There is a corner that presses into the pad while I'm wearing them so it will eventually wear a hole there and I'll eventually have to replace the earpad. I'm interested in angled ear pads for that reason, but haven't tried any yet.

Not hard to swap out. Pretty much like any other ear pad exchange but maybe a little harder to accomplish. Overall the K267 makes changing out ear pads very easy since there's a notch in the rim to slide the pad through and since they're round you just have to keep twisting to get them on until the last 1/8 turn or so.
