If you actually look at the list price from Amazon, you would actually see that it's the same as the MSRP here. Don't know what you're talking about here.

That the Consumer price is $30.00 more and might be the "fixed" ones. That is worth $30.00 to me. Maybe I am nuts..

If you go through the discussions earlier, I believe the general consensus here is that MD is dropping the revised version that has already addressed the breaking issue.
I myself got a pair from 2 drops back, in Dec last year. I keep them in the soft pouch that's included, and carry them in my backpack everyday. No issues so far.

Thank you for responding. I am currently using the On1 by Thinksound. I would think these would be better? Maybe I should join the drop again. Will wait a bit. Thank you very much though! Eric Harris

I haven't heard of the On1 before now, but reviews seem good. I can't say for sure which is better though.
What I like about the AKG K267 is the portability, minimal sound leakage and detachable cables. These made for a headphones that is very easy to use on the go. I had the ATH-MSR7, and also tried the ATH-M50X, but ultimately, the K267 is my choice. I also own the AKG K553, so I might be biased towards AKG's sound signature.
