arnedgThese are very neutral sounding, if you like that quality then purchase it. The problem with HE-350 is the shrieking trebles. You're better off with K7XX or better if you want open-back without any modifications. TBH, I don' t listen to these anymore ever since they have first been introduced on MassDrop. They are just super boring to listen to.

arnedgI agree with 6EQUJ5, I also used to own them then I sold it because I find the bass is really lacking. The vocal sounds recessed too. So only the higher frequencies sound nice.
Unfortunately there isn't anything that stands out to me in that price bracket. Maybe the Grado SR-80E but it's open, or maybe Sennheiser HD 598 CS if you want something closed. But if I were you I'd just save up and aim for TH-X00.
I started with the lower tier too but what ends up happening is that I just end up buying a lot of cheaper headphones and never be satisfied until I hit the mid tier. So in the end I end up spending more money. If you only gun for TH-X00 it will end up being cheaper in the long run. TH-X00 is at a good money/performance ratio.
Hope this helps.
