Kaos740K545s are noticeably boomy in comparison. This focuses more on precise sound staging and stage accuracy, I'd call them the closed Q701s/K701-2s

Kaos740These are very easy to tune bass on...they can be flat and accurate out of the box..but if you're not afraid to EQ they respond VERY well. I can achieve a ton of bass (and I consider myself a semi-basshead). I use Equalizer APO + Peace GUI in windows with a 32-band EQ and it's AMAZING. Games, movies, music all sound great. These headphones play very nice in all arenas for me...I sold my HiFiman HE-400's for these, returned some Oppo PM-3's in favor of these ($400 headphones btw), put my JVC HARX700's, Sony XB-500's (bass monsters, first generation 2010/11), JVC HA-DX3's, and Denon D2000's in favor of the K553 Pro's because they perform so well in everything and provide amazing isolation in and out.
For the price, these cannot be beat...I've tried. :)

KursahHey Kursah, sounds awesome. Not sure what EQ means. I'm rather new in this area of high end headphones. I'm a little bit of base head, i like the deep base sounds like good sounding explosions and decent mid. Something like Progressive house music is something i enjoy bass in. How much do you think the bass difference is from AKG k553 to AKG k545 to DT880. My ONLY concern is if the base will satisfy me. Some say the bass on AKG 550 is good and impactfull, and since AKG 553 has more bass than AKG 550. I ffel like it's the choice between, AKG 553 wonderfull clear sound and amazing soundstage or AKG 545's amazing bass but not so amazing soundstage and less crisp.

KursahI like a good rumbling bass and a good "Thump", rather than a continuous bass. I like the impact bass. Would these headphones be right for me?

Kaos740The trick with the K553's is to tilt the rear of the cups more towards your head than the fronts...without creating an air gap...that inceases the bass substantially. Placement with headphones are important and super easy to accomplish here since the cups tilt up/down and front/rear.
I have no experience with the K545's, nor the 550's. But I do know the design these all use benefit greatly from placement over your hear. YMMV.
But EQ = Equalizer. It's how you can modify the sound frequencies to be stronger or weaker...usually measured in decible increments.
If you want more bass add +6-12 dB in the bass frequencies. (20-80 Hz), start cutting off around 100Hz...though depending on what kind of bass you want, you might want to change that...there's no right or wrong...just what sounds good to you.
The soundstage on the K553 Pro's is excellent IMHO, and I loved the HiFiMan HE-400's, being fully open-backed...those were amazing. Being able to have a good soundstage in a closed headphone is really challenging, but I feel the K553's did admirable.
Bass can satisfy if you use an equalizer. What are you using as a source? PC sound card? Desktop amp? Reciever?
I find the bass reaches really deep, and has decent impact. Not nearly as-hard hitting as my XB-500's, but the overall sound quality and soundstage is leaps and bounds, and miles ahead. I find these headphones to be a good compromise many areas and doing it quite well (for my needs).
If you don't like these, you could easily sell them! This is the 4th or 5th drop for these since last spring iirc correctly to give you an idea. :)

KursahThanks for the reply :) I don't use any Amplifiers or soundcards. I only have my ROG motherboards SupremeFX to count on. Dunno is this is good or bad. I'm just really concerned about the bass :/ I really like a good bass and AKG K545 seems to deliver that, but at a reduced soundstage and less crispy of what i've read. The 545 just seems like a better stand alone headphones since they have good bass right out of the box and a cable you can click on and off. They also seem to be superior when used with a phone.

Kaos740Yep the K545 are tuned for lower-power outputs. Your SupremeFX likely has a amplified output stage if it's 5yrs old or newer. I have an X-Fi sound card from 2009 that had a built-in headphone amp. I use an Aune T1 though, excellent and affordable headphone amp and DAC (sound card).
The K553's are good, and I'd say are the next step up...but if bass is your priority...I'd recommend you look at something else. If you want bass + clarity, and don't mind using a software equalizer (that your SupremeFX control panel has, check Google ;) )...you can tune it to your liking.
I don't know anyone that has the K545 because they're more a portable oriented set...but the 553's are plenty easy to drive. I've used by cell phone and Sansa MP3 player with great success, though I also have an EQ tune for those as well. The 553's are designed to be more neutral than the K545's...or more flatline...which sounds more boring to me. I like a little color (read: bass) to my sound...an EQ easily provides plenty.
If you want thump, these will provide some...but there's more boom. The Sony XB-500's provide more thump than any other headphone I've owned other than the HiFiMan HE-400's. The XB's would shake on your head they hit so hard... Gen 1's from 2010/11.
