Size wise, how do these compare to the k7xx? I have big ear and I'm struggling a bit with the AKG k271 mkII that I just bought. The k7xx that I bought on here fit me beautifully!

tbraasI have both K553 and K7xx, and to me they are quite different in both sound and build. The K7XX are bigger and lighter, but much more fragile-feeling and cheaper build-quality. I agree with /u/phoenixsong that the K553 are shallower. I'll probably buy some replacement pads that are deeper and a different material, as the K553s get a bit hot for me after wearing them for >30 minutes. I'd love a hybrid pair that used the excellent build quality (for the price) K553 with the open back and auto-fit headstrap of the K7xx. They make a good collection for me though: K7xx for home and K553 for work.
