The audio on my pc38x is not working
One day I just plugged in my Pc38x and they stopped working. I tested the mic and it works, I've tried changing the cord multiple times and have adjusted the volume disk, none of this has changed my situation. I've tested the headphones on my PC, switch, and PS5 and the audio doesn't work there either.

It's safe to say that, the wide stadium soundstage I was promised is just not attainable with $199. (Maybe with the HiFiMan HE-4XX but have y'all seen how horribly they're made? No, thanks. No poorly-built headphones for me.)
This morning, I'm learning to enjoy the AKG K7XX. It's definitely better for gaming and I'm not a gamer. So, I know I'm missing out. With music, I guess I needed to burn-in my own ears and mind to appreciate their sound.
Build quality is appreciable, too. My gripe is with the cable; takes too much force to insert and remove. Not a fan. Otherwise, the headphones sit comfortably on my basketball (very large head). The circular ear cups are... strange. But it doesn't take long to enjoy them. The memory foam is a nice touch and, thankfully, the K7XX are not clamping that hard to begin with. It just sits well. Good job, AKG. Get your act together, Sennheiser (*eyeballs the HD 58X Jubilee*).
Speaking of which, comparing the K7XX with the HD 58X Jubilee, I have one word to say: Vocals. Vocals, vocals, vocals, VOOOCALS. To my ears, that is the main difference to consider. The Germans have nailed it. Singers (the good ones) sound amazing on the HD 58X Jubilee. On the K7XX, vocals are... what's the word... on the tip on my tongue... starts with a "b"... ah, BORING. Vocals are boring as sh*t on the K7XX, and that is okay. They're my ears, not yours. You'll probably hear better vocals. But I'll just use the HD 58X Jubilee whenever I really want to get the nuances in Matt Bellamy's voice in every Muse track ever. And I'll use the K7XX for jazz and classical.
This review still took a negative turn, I understand. You would, too, if $149 headphones sound better than $199 headphones you thought you needed to compensate for what the first ones lacked. I'm still looking for the stadium-wide soundstage and imaging. Let me know which headphones to buy, and I will ignore all your recommendations because the Sennheiser HD 800 S are probably the ones to get.
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this. The K7XX features, build quality, and sound signature have been discussed endlessly, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt and trust that, at $199, they'll do the job, and you're the only one who can truly appreciate them because nobody can tell your ears what to hear except your brain (not sure if that even makes sense but it sounds nice).
