maybe its just me but i feel uneasy about the fact that the headphones are built in China.. am i alone with the concern?
Concerned why? Q701 were too and they were fine.
Not alone but from what i have read on head-fi. Not anything to worry about. A guy posted in the forum post you can find linked here in the "reviews" section that he had a pair of the same model akg phone, one made in china the other in austria and that he "couldn't tell the difference"
I was uneasy at first but oh well. Bought one anyway. What isn't made in China now days. Even if it says made in wherever, the internal pieces of it at least one piece will be made in China. As long as it sounds good, don't matter to me.
id like to see a comparison between the Austrian and Chinese versions when it comes down to long term reliability. hopefully its all good.
I'm not one bit. As far as I'm concerned, chinese robotics are cutting edge and niche products produced in China come out just as good as home country made most generally :)
its still AKG, AKG as a company wouldn't want the place of manufacture to affect the quality of their headphones.. unless you're boycotting china (I know people that are) then they're probably gonna be fine.
No you are not alone and don't be concerned. I have 702s made in China and they are fine.
