I'm sorry if this question has been asked before but I don't necessarily want to search through 79 pages of the discussion.
But what would be the best portable amp for these? (I have a Asus Formula motherboard and they have an integrated amp that can drive 600ohm headphones so I should be good for desktop listening right?)
Please suggest possible portable brands that would work. 100-150 is my best budget.
Thanks Guys!!

TTelfordThat is a ROG motherboard, right? I've got a series VI ROG motherboard, the impact MITX, which I bought because it had supposedly the best on board sound out there, touting 600ohm etc. It wouldn't even drive my hd558 headphones that well. My old full size PC had an Asus add on sound card and it was sufficient for those headphones. But I have a feeling that these headphones might need a bit more power than the hd558. It was the inadequate Asus on board sound that brought me here. I now own too much headphone related stuff.

scccThis is the one I have, its a full ATX MB. Has upgraded audio or so i thought.

I was interested in a amp for my Oneplus One and Ipod classic for the most part (possibly my laptop)
Edit: If anybody thinks a desktop amp would be better on top of the on board audio, please let me know

TTelfordI don't know how hard these are to drive, i'll be reviewing them and learning how to drive them when I get them.. I don't have that board but i'll be able to find out... this taught me a bunch about headphones though

TTelfordAn integrated chip is not nearly as good as a separate sound card. A desktop amp can and usually is better than a sound card. You need to spend at least $150 to get a real good sound card. ASUS seems to be one of the best brands

TTelfordthey're pretty awesome, so is Barnacules and Linus (which is how I ended up on this Drop), and the others in the tech community :P (like Jayztwocentz even though he doesn't really do the headphones thing)

TTelfordI looked it up and the on board sound on my mb has a different amp. I thought the sound setup was the same across the series vi Asus rog mbs, but was mistaken. Yours may have a bit more output than my mb then, but I am now more than a little suspicious of the 600ohm claims from Asus.

BloodshedRomanceI'm subscribed to most of the big tech Youtubers. They've helped me a lot building my gaming rig . I heard about massdrop from one the WAN shows a while ago and I've bought quite a bit of stuff from here.

scccMSI has something similar as well and name it Audio Boost 2. I want to see how the motherboard (MSI Gaming 7 z97) drives these as well before committing to an amp purchase.
