The planes with the 8 pallets arrived late in the afternoon and we got it to our warehouse in record time. We had our packers stay late and work as fast as they can to get as many of these repacked before the UPS cut-off time, I show around 1000 done & shipped, and we expect the last 1000 to go out tomorrow.
In regards to the "shipping lottery", the way things work (roughly) is that 2000 invoice/labels get sequentially printed, and then distributed in stacks of 100 to 20 people. Fred gets 1-100, George 101-200, Sally 201-300 etc. Fred might be quick and get 90 of his done, and George only gets 80 done. Meanwhile Sally is also quick and gets all 100 of hers done. The result is that #91-#100 and #181-#199 aren't finished, even though #200-#300 are completely done. With small(er) orders, this isn't a problem because everything gets done on the same day regardless and gets put on the same truck. With larger orders (that are as rushed as this one is) it potentially causes a 1-day offset if you happen to be near the bottom of someone's "pile".
An alternative is that if your box was completed "first" and put into the "done pile" and then later ones are subsequently stacked on top of yours. If the UPS truck runs out of space while loading, yours gets left on the loading dock until the next truck arrives. If it's the last truck of the day, it doesn't get loaded until the next morning.
tldr; I wish we sold virtual goods, it would be so much less hassle!!!

MarkSo next time give Fred numbers 1,21,41,..,1981 , give George 2,22,42, ... 1982 and Sally 3,23,43,...,1983 e.t.c. Still doesn't explain how #2380 got shipped.

MarkIn case it hasn't been said, I just want to let you guys know that I appreciate all the effort you guys put in to try to make the orders ship out as fast as possible. This is my fourth drop so I've learned to grow some patience. I know there are things out of your guys' control so I don't put the delays on you. I would sacrifice a little wait time for these awesome prices/products any day. Thanks again and I hope everyone at Massdrop has a safe and happy holiday!
