My first impressions are the sound good. Lots of air and separation around instruments and vocals and I could hear reverb trails etc well. They have what I would describe as having a dry character but with a nice wide (not really wide) soundstage. A little boxy sounding but I think this just indicates a more flat response in comparison to what I'm used to. The bass is still a bit lacking (I'm no bass head) but the definition in the lower end is good just not very powerful or extended. I only listened to a couple of track and will do more listening and report back. Did not hear ENT rattling or distortion apart from an occasional puppet mid "cracking" sound in some sounds but this may be the tracks themselves. Only listened at moderate levels though.
I bought these primarily to mix my own recordings, which I feel they will be perfect for. I'll only need to stick on my DT770's to check I've not added too much low end. As long as I don't detect this distortion people are complaining about, I'll be very happy.
Me too. I bought this as my first good set of headphones. I thought this would be similar to the K702 annies and therefore bought this over the HD598. If I don't get any rattle then I'll be happy. A fair few seem like they're getting the rattling noise but I guess most people with negative experiences would comment here while only a few with positive experiences would.
