After reading through the discussion, I'm thinking about getting a modi2 and magni2, but have some questions for people who have them or know much about them. First do they come with the cords and hookups that you need to actually use them or would I have to go out and get them? Second which version should I get? The regular USB versions or should I just get the uber versions of both of them, is there a significant difference in the experience with USB? Or is the experience the same and the only difference are the input and output options? Any insight would be very welcomed.

Adamant-Pariahi do not think they come with the needed wires but i could be wrong, and the schiit stack is good because its really good at that price point, if you get the uber versions you might as well get something better at the new price point. I literally just joined this drop 5 min a go https://www.massdrop.com/buy/matrix-mstage-amp-dac I read some reviews about this amp on head-fi and the top review said that this amp/dac paires really nicely with the akg k701, so it should run the k7xx's really nicely as well. and in my personal opinion from what ive read it should be ever better than the schiit stack. ps. i was highly debating getting the stack but was waiting if MD had a good amp/dac combo and now they do.

Adamant-PariahI have the regular, non-Uber versions and like the stack. Doesn't come with cables. You'll need a USB cable to connect the Modi 2 to your computer, and a stereo RCA cable to connect Modi 2 to Magni 2. I went with the regular version as I didn't need the extra features of the Ubers.

ginsbuThanks I couldn't see anything about if the cables were included so I figured I'd ask before I bought them and realized I needed something else.

Adamant-PariahYeah in order to save on production costs they don't include them so that was a legit question!

Adamant-Pariahwas looking for some information about shipping dates. Came across this. It never crossed my mind that they would not include the cables. I am living in Vienna, home of AKG where this is not offered. Paid for the post box in US, will pay the shipment and the customs. Which will end up paying actually more than to grab the q701 which would be here the next morning. Bear in mind, I was ready for this. But not for the frikkin cables. the attention award goes to you. oh silly me.. and the best part of it, i have been talking around and saying, oh it's much better without those silly green cables, they are black like it's supposed to be. i guess i am in the market for cables now, another hit it the pocket. Any suggestions?

cipskolakilitThey are talking about cables for the Schiit stack not the cables for the headphones.
e.g. RCA for linking DAC and Amp, Optical, coaxial, usb, etc...
