The Modi/Magni stack is considered to be a great one. For the price it's worth it. I went for a Schiit Fulla because of the portability, but will probably be upgrading to an O2 stack or the Modi/Magni.

I've got the M2/M2 stack and have been very pleased with it. I haven't compared to other external DACs/amps though.

I'm really a newbie in audiophile headphones, but I just ordered the combo today after reading several pages of recommendations for this stack on this very discussion page.

That is a great entry level combo, and paired with the Massdrop K7xx is probably one of the best audiophile values out there right now. Mobo sound may be "enough" but you will certainly notice a large improvement with the M2 stack.

Can't really go wrong with the money spent. The M2 is a very powerful little amp: Maximum Power, 16 ohms: 1.8W RMS per channel Maximum Power, 32 ohms: 1.2W RMS per channel
Maximum Power, 50 ohms: 1.0W RMS per channel
Maximum Power, 300 ohms: 260mW RMS per channel
Maximum Power, 600 ohms: 130mW RMS per channel
