So, mine had been broken for about a year and I decided to not be lazy and try and fix it.
As it turns out the positive connector on the right earcup came loose. Easy fix, I opened it up, replaced the cable, closed and all is working again!

I decided to go a step further and replace the internal wiring on the left cup too. This one was slightly harder.

While it was open, I thought why not make them balanced... so I did!

A nice 4 pin mini-xlr and an accompanying re-terminated stock cable!

Just waiting on some Dekoni elite hybrid sheepskin pads to come from the latest drop to breathe some new life into these babies!
I wonder if AKG will sell me a few replacement parts however.... Those clear plastic support rails on both left and right sides have snapped... and there may or may not be a hole in the left cup caused by a soldering iron...
