Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

You're right that these headphones don't appear to be Limited Edition and they're absolutely a cash cow for massdrop. They'll almost certainly never have any resale value, in my estimation. Personally, I wouldn't buy this crap in a thousand years, but hey, I'm sure I'm just an idiot and if others want to give massdrop large sums of money in exchange for some made in China headphones, so be it.
No one is arguing that MD is a business and should make money. I like their concept and what them to keep refining it. I also don't see anything wrong with consumers considering product's "value" during its purchase (whatever it is to the individual). Why should headphones be different from cars, watches, etc in terms how well the product hold up in the future? Though anyone speculating on headphones value appreciating in indeed needs some guidance...
The gripe is about the potentially false labeling/advertising a product. $200 is not cheap. Many people, myself including, wait and see how a newly released products fares in impressions and reliability in relation to competitor choices before making a rational purchasing decision. It is a different story when someone comes out with a "limited" improved version (and hypes it up as such) of already well received product. In that case the purchase is driven more by impulse not to miss out on potentially awesome product...with some comfort that they could may be re-sell it at minimal loss or just hang onto it for "2nd cool" aspect (ex. my Koss ProDJ100 Tony Bennett TBSE1).
However, it is not so cool when that hyped "limited" edition turns out a regular production line with no end in sight, no return policy and indifferent second hand market...that's where the false labeling/advertising comes it. Plus is potentially undermines future "limited" releases by that company. Whether people realize or care about this is a different story.
Is this gonna be the case with these? Yes, no, may be so, I don't know. Anyway, probably said more than people will read, but it was a good way to pass a lunch hour LOL
no way. if you want the headphone, the LE tag is a small push. if you dont need it, the LE tag means nothing.
Misleading from common sense of "limited edition" nonetheless. Should have just change to "Massdrop Edition"
