Hey folks, you can drive yourself crazy comparing apples to oranges. Sound is a very subjective medium and has a specific place for different applications; it will vary profoundly depending on the level of hardware used. You have to consider, at the end of the day you are purchasing a superior set of phones for an unbeatable price. In the real world this would be a "no brainer" acquisition if Massdrop didn't exist...
I agree, for the most part. The problem is, odds are you're buying it without hearing it. Sound IS a subjective thing, and therefor you can't just say "it's good". Maybe it's not for you, and you have no way of knowing that. Plus you can always find the K702s, listen to them, and know exactly what you're getting for just about $30 more, and the risk of passing up something that's possibly a bit better.
