I've read people say the X2's have a better bass response but the K7XX are a more neutral sounding headphone just lacking in bass... I'm sure with a good DAC/AMP combo these should be alright and if anything a little EQ shifting.
I just jumped on the drop because I need a new pair of cans for my O2 Amp and DACport slim the price for these is my sweet spot as well I didn't want to get close to $300 hopefully these will suite my needs good I am coming from a HyperX Cloud gaming headset so I should be in for a surprise.

m4rkbr0wnGot my pair from the previous drop. I don't consider them lacking in bass, though I did carry out the bass port mod which you can find instructions for on youtube. Instead, they provide bass when it is called for. I would say leaving the two felt/foam rings that were behind the earpads makes the bass and lower midrange more prominent, though for my own tastes I removed them because I felt that doing so improved treble detail. The second "mod" is much easier to try out as well since it just requires unscrewing the earpads in the correct direction (anticlockwise).
Unfortunately, I can't compare them with the X2 since I have never heard the X2 before, but if it helps, having used a pair of V-shaped iems (unfair comparison, true) I would consider the more prominent midrange of the K7XX a welcome change.

m4rkbr0wnI'm also coming from the hyperx clouds, and couldn't decide between the two. I'm going to go ahead with X2's, cause of all the good things I've heard of them. And being able to use the vmoda boom pro is a bonus too.
