Canadian buyer here, had to pay $46 Canadian on delivery, including $36 import tax and $10 fee to DHL. I understand the import tax, but what's with the $10 fee? I paid $15 US shipping fee already when I bought the headphones.
If you look at your invoice, most likely the $10 fee is for brokerage. You're paying them for someone to look through the paperwork, file the paperwork, and pay the taxes on your behalf to Customs Canada Inc. (the Canadian Gov't is a corporation - i.e. your SIN number indicates they can legally tax you because you "applied" for the SIN number and therefore are legally considered as an employee of the federal and provincial gov'ts. This is how taxation has been made legal even though, for example, income tax was supposed to be a temporary thing - but I have digressed a bit.).
