if i use these with my ps4 and a mod mic connected with a splitter will that work. I am also planning on getting a simple amp to use with it. anyone know if this will work and what amp to get?

It'll work with a splitter, although the PS4 won't power it all that well.
I have a K701 plugged into a FiiO E10k, works just fine. I think most amps should be able to drive these, they're not ridiculously hard.

would i be able to connect the amp to the ps4 and then connect the headphone and modmic to the amp? dont really know how this works, first time buying amp.

I suppose you could, I'm not sure how the performance would be through a PS4 though so I can't really say. You can't plug the modmic into the amp though, that would need to go either into the Dualshock 4 or through a USB splitter.

so i have a few options 1) get ad700x or k7xx with a fiio amp and modmic. connect the amp to ps4 and have the headphone and mic connect through a splitter
2) get astro a40/a50 and just plug and play with their mixamp

The problem with option #1 is that I don't think plugging a mic into a splitter, then into an amp into the ps4 will give you mic functionality. AFAIK, the PS4 can only use a mic plugged directly via USB, into the controller or with bluetooth. You might just have to get a USB splitter and plug the headphones & mic into the USB splitter.
