I've been thinking about getting these for the past year. Finally made the decision to get in on this drop. Now I need to research an affordable quality amp to go with it.
Schiit Magni and Modi for desktop setup...
Uber is the next thing...
I actually switched to Teac 101 that was dropped here few weeks ago and would say Schiit is the lower/good alternative...
Thank you for the suggestions. It seems the most universally suggested options of affordable but still high quality amp/dacs are the Schiit and O2 offerings. Those are my most likely candidates. Thank you for confirming my research.
I was searching and tweaking for a while.
I was going for the O2 or D1, but a Schiit upgrade was suggestible.
Then found out about the Teac 101 drop here and went for it.
I think the best entry option for you is:
1. Teac 101, which was available here with at least $100-$250 cheaper with the external 2.1 speakers and direct shipping to Saudi Arabia for my case.
2. Schiit Magni and Modi stacks but if you can fetch another $100 the Uber will be a better choice.
3. O2 for a $100 AMP/DAC that is new or D1 for a $169 AMP/DAC that is old in the market but still standing.
I like that the Teac has a speaker amp built in. I'm really drawn the the Schiit options, and may go with the Uber version. Thanks again for the input. I'll have to make a decision soon. Doubt my E6 is going to do these proper justice.
Schiit Uber AMP/DAC are great option if you're okay with the bulk/space since they are stacked.
I'm receiving my new Teac soon, so I can decide if it is a better way to go from Uber or not.
Good luck again!
Got a Magni 2 Uber from a friend for a great deal. Need to locate some cables and I'm all set. Thanks again for the input.
Any update on your Teac? I might be able to use one of those in a different spot in the house
