Best deal I've seen on Massdrop. I'm torn, should I get this, an RGB, or topre?..
I'd get this. I have several keyboards, all of which are backlit. The leds always go out way before the life of the actual keyboard. I'm currently using a Shine 3, with ~10 dead leds. Lately I've been looking at boards with no leds. The only reason why I'm hesitant on this is the lack of switch options. Of course it comes down to personal opinion on what you want.
You could always go with a GK84. RGB and hot swappable PCB. Very nice board
treat yourself! I would, except I am (still) patiently waiting for a Keychron K2.
That's messed up. My Corsair k70 has survived for +4 years now with no led or keycap issues. It's just not RGB.
My Shine 3 is ancient, but it still works perfectly other than the LEDs. Even if all the LEDs in my Shine 3 were functional, I'd probably still look at keyboards with no LEDs. For me personally, I don't need the backlighting, I hardly ever look at my keyboard, and on top of that in general, LEDs are typically the first things to go in mechanical keyboards. Again, it's all down to personal preference mostly.
