these chairs are very wide. The fact that they dont have 4d arm rests makes them pretty uncomfortable for me. I constantly have to adjust the arm rests and even then can't get it perfect. I'm 6'2" 180lbs and this chair makes me feel like i'm sitting in a giants chair. if the arm rests would come in toward the body it would be amazing. I contacted support about this over email and they took quite a few days to reply and did not really give good customer support type answers. they were generic answers. it wasn't until i pressed the issue a little more than i got an actual "human" type of response. I expected more based off the activity they show on this site. They did say 4d arm rests are coming, but would not respond anymore after that. If i had to do it over i would NOT buy this chair again without 4d arm rests.

Got the chair on Friday, took me 15 minutes to put together by myself. Easy peasy.

I'm 5'1", 135lb, fits me great! I love sitting with my legs crossed and this makes it comfy for that and I need the height of this chair to be ergo with my workstation, so of course a footrest was necessary. Less back and neck pain compared to a Serta chair I had previously from the big box office supply store. My only problem is this plastic cover thing came cracked (see photo). I guess I need to contact @AKRacingAmerica @Michael_AKRacingAmerica for a replacement?
o0DiMpLz0oHi Dimplz, Great to hear it fits you well :). Yes please send our service team your request and we will ship out a new side cover for you! Service@ARKacing.com On the handle you will notice a screw that can easily be removed with a phillips head screwdriver, then the side cover just pops off and slides off the handle. FYI on replacement.

Just got the chair today. Shout out to MassDrop/AKracing on the shipping. i am a massdrop regular and i'm used to having to wait weeks or sometimes a month or so for my item to arrive. I didn't expect it to show up in just under a week, pleasant surprise.
as for the chair: TLDR: I am happy with it. Comfy enough for me, rolls well, and more adjustable and better ergos/comfort than the chair it was replacing so its a win. At this price point i wasn't expecting a Herman Miller Embody chair so i'm very happy with what i got for 250$

I'm 6'5" 200Lbs and its a good fit for me. Took 15 minutes to build it
Downsides: It smells... bad. I'm sure the funk will dissipate after a couple days but be warned. I don't really love branding in any form and this says "AKRacing" all over it, many times, and in bright white. Main seat cushion feels a tad stiff but i expect it to break in after some use. Those are nit picks though. I rate it at: 8/10 considering its price at $250 4/10 if you paid retail @ $500 (there's stiff competition in the 500$ range)

hopi someone could help.... I need to get my father new chair that is supportive but comfortable & if possible one that would help with sciatica or easy to use with cushion he uses to relieve pai. Please help m, I don't want to get something he won't be comfortable in. What would people suggest for my almost 70 year old father?

SummerLovedefinitely not this chair... i just got mine and i like it, but its not a comfy/ergonomic chair. you rely on the back pillow for lumbar support and thats fine for me but for him id probably stick him in an ergohuman or herman miller chair. just my two cents...

@B.Hutch @AKRacingAmerica I still haven't had my original question answered but I noticed that on the AKRacing website, they Obsidian chair has different specs compared to the one you've listed in the MD drop. Can you clarify if this is an error or just a matter of different generations?
And will the lumbar/neck cushions look like the ones on that same web page or will it be more like the Premium V2 series?
This is the website page I am referring to:
https://www.akracing.com/product/obsidian-office-chair/
o0DiMpLz0oHi @o0DiMpLz0o i'm more than happy to shed some light on this situation and i apologize no one got back to you sooner as BHutch and AKRacingAmerica are busy this week at CES. To answer your question, Yes, The specs have changed because the Obsidian at our website is the FINAL version of the chair. The Obsidian was a Massdrop exclusive chair and we have gone back to the drawing board with our design team to add a few more key features to the new 2018 version. The pillows on this version massdrop is selling are the same as Premium V2 Series HeadRest + Lumbar support. Please tag me if you have any other questions as i'd be more than happy to assist.

The description of this product, mentions included pillows for neck and lumbar support, but I don't see them anywhere in the images of the product. So, just to make sure, they are included right?

Hi, @AKRacingAmerica @B.Hutch I’m only 5’1“; 130lb. the chair seat height is fine for my set up since I have a footrest and need the seat height for my desk to be ergonomic, but do you think the chair will fit me comfortably? I also often like to sit cross legged in my chair and I sit for at least 8 hrs a day. My 27" iMac sits on a 3.25" riser (that can still be raised to 4") and my current chair raises up to 16" max from the ground to the underside of the seat cushion but I need a chair that can go higher than that due to keyboard position, in order to be ergo.
Does the foam mold to you? I don’t expect high density foam to be soft right away, similar to a foam bed or pillow which takes at least a month to be cushier. Is this the case for the seat cushion as well?
Do the extra support cushions adjust up/down enough for different body sizes? My torso is long, my legs are short, if that helps you answer my question lol.
Thanks!

Good for larger and younger people. Assembly = 30 min - not difficult. Quality and durability appear very good. Foam is firm/very firm. Does not feel “cushy”. Will likely last a long time, but might be a bit too firm for older people. Chair feels BIG. I am 5-10” and 175 lbs, and I feel too small for this chair. Not easy to tilt back even adjusted to most relaxed.
