High Quality Materials
I love the quality of materials and the ergonomics of the chair. The only issue I have is the foam on the seat might be a little too thick and soft. I prefer a "firm" seat where I don't sink in too much.

Easy setup, and well built chair. Arm rests are not the best, but i barely use them. The cushioning is pretty nice and firm. It has a foam smell out of the box, but its been two days. Hopefully it goes away in a week. Overall happy with my purchase.

Very nice, adjustable, comfortable seat. The armrests are awful. As others have said, they swivel FAR too easily and there's quite a bit of play/wobbliness. Based off the armrests alone, I'd be hesitant to recommend it to anyone. If anyone knows of some better aftermarket armrests OR (and this would be ideal) knows of someway to mod them to be fixed in place, I'm open to ideas.

I just got it last night so this will be an initial impression.
First the box it came in is *enormous*, an absolute unit. There doesn't seem to be enough packing fill to prevent bad things from happening to it during shipping but mine showed up with no problems or holes in the box. Good job Fed Ex!
Assembly: Not sure what other people are saying in their reviews. It shows up in 5 or 6 major parts, the wheels, 5 arm base, a box full of the tilt mechanism base, gas shock, screws and tools. Then the seat with arms pre-attacched and 4 bolts for the base to screw into pre-screwed, and the seat back with four bolts for the attachment to the seat base pre-screwed, and the two pillows. To assemble it you simply unscrew the pre-screwed in pieces, align the bolt holes and use the supplied allen wrenches to bolt it all together. Could not be easier.
First impressions of the seat size: Note, I'm 6'4" and 250lbs so this will be written with that in mind. This chair is huge. The seatback height is perfect, but it could actually be an inch narrower through the thigh and back and I think I'd like it even more. I don't hate it but I prefer a slightly smaller chair that wraps my thighs and back closer. The thing feels like sitting on a giant throne. I had to move the armwrests all the way in and down to find a comfortable position. If the MAX and Pro chairs are even bigger then I don't know who those are for. Maybe they're made with Shaq in mind. If you've ever sat in an Aeron, it feels a bit bigger than a size "C" which is what I use at work. I'm also sitting with the height at its lowest position and more than comfortable. I have a 33" inseam for reference. I wouldn't recommend this seat for someone below 6' tall at all as you'll feel completely dwarfed by this chair.
Comfort: It's very comfortable, and very adjustable. I'm sure anyone my size or bigger can find a comfortable way to sit in this seat. The lumbar pillow is basically useless, no idea who uses it since the seat back already has some lumbar support built in. It fits the form of my back very well and provides excellent support and the "lock it and rock it" base is a nice feature to angle the front of the seat to any angle you want and back tilt adjustment allows me to sit upright or lean back in a more friendly driving posture. A++ for comfort.
Initial Build Quality: Everything fits together securely but the gas lift didn't seem to go into the base far enough upon putting it together so the seat height adjustment lever is only solid from level position up. It sags and wiggles and you can push it down and it feels a bit cheap. The seat height adjustment works fine, so I wonder if there should be a stop on it from the front going past level so it doesn't just limply lay there. I also have an issue with the "4d" armrest rotation not locking. I've sat in it not very long and already accidentally rotated them in ways I didn't intend to. They don't need to lock but they should be much harder to twist IMO. The arm wrests also wiggle a little on their posts simply because there's so much play in a vertical post design that they feel a bit cheap. Everything else feels very solid and the warranty is very good so if anything breaks it will be covered. One other minor issue is that the "lock it and rock it" base if you lock it to straight has no wiggle, but if you lock it to tilt it has about 3-5 degrees of tilt in it, which is probably fine but I was expecting it to be *locked* at the angle I picked.
Overall: It's a great seat for the Massdrop price and priced very appropriately at 350 dollars for the non-deluxe model. There's no way it's worth 630 just for the play in the tilt lever and arm wrests alone. For something that expensive these levers should be more solid and the "4d" armrest should be harder to rotate. If I had paid 630 for this I'd be pretty upset. But for 350 it's an outstanding value.

Dope chair, super comfy, no idea why I didn't buy it before. Got the deluxe version, can't really come up with any problems, except maybe for one tiny one where the arm rest rotation can't be locked down so sometimes i rotate the arm rest by accident, but it's super no issue.

Excellent build quality. Kinda stinky out of the box but 2 weeks later it's fine. Not the greatest for people shorter than 5' 6" (168cm).

Decent chair, after enduring the monumental pain in the butt from trying to put it together from cryptic instructions. Should have hired someone from TaskRabbit to do it.

I've already written a review for this chair in the discussion section, but thought I'd write another updated review in this section as well.

Having sat in this chair over 2 and a half months, I can say that it's a great deal at the price Massdrop is selling it at, especially the full grain leather version. While it is more expensive than other gaming/racing chairs, it is worth the extra money, in my opinion.
This chair is very sturdy, comfortable, and good-looking. If you get the real leather version (real leather in the front, pleather on the back), the leather is quality and well-stitched. Most of the other parts on the Onyx are also quality, not cheap-feeling or brittle. So far, the chair has not been squeaking and the foam has held up. Only time will tell if things stay this way after years of sitting in it.
As for the negatives, like I said in my initial review, this chair will stink up your entire room for the first week or two after you open it up and put it together. It's a very strong chemical smell that you will need to deal with for many days before it disappears. This may or may not bother some people, but I thought I'd share it to make people aware of the headache it caused me to sit in it the first week.
Also like I mentioned in my initial review, the arm rests are adjustable in multiple directions. Forward/backwards, left/right, up/down. I think AKRacing calls it their 4D design. It's good to be able to adjust the arm rests in so many ways, but it is also very annoying to have to constantly readjust the arm rests back because the only locking mechanism there is, is for the up/down positioning. The arm rests constantly gets adjusted by accident in the left/right positions because there is no locking mechanism for those positions.
My last complaint about this chair is the fact that it gets very hot sitting in it because of the materials used. It's not the chair's fault or AKRacing's fault, but you will get sweaty when sitting in this chair for multiple hours in a row, even in an air conditioned room. It simply doesn't allow your butt or back to breathe. I don't usually sweat a lot and I use this chair in an air conditioned room, but after a few hours of sitting in this chair, my butt and back gets soaked. That's the price you pay for sitting on non-perforating material.
Having said all of that, this is definitely a very good chair and a good upgrade from most cheap office chairs or gaming chairs. AKRacing will stand behind their products, as any defects or issues will be remedied by their customer service department. They replaced the entire leather backrest on my chair when I showed them pictures of a flaw in the leather. That's great customer service.

I am a big guy. 6'5" and about 275lbs. This chair is VERY comfortable for someone of my size.
It is a royal PITA to put together though. Having a second person around help would a lot. The instructions are pictorial, but very dark and vague.
Anyways, I love this chair. I am incredibly pleased with it.

It's okay I guess. Feels better than a lot of other 'Racing' Chairs. But it is highly questionable, why they did not add a bungee cord for the lower back support pad. Everytime you stand up it falls over. Kind of annoying.
