Is this chair actually stable when 180 degrees? I find it hard to believe that this chair wouldn't flat out fall over.

I question that claim as well, but even if it can it's a feature I'll use exactly once (just to test it). Who wants to nap in their office chair?

Completely stable. I have this exact chair. I have unlocked the "rock and lock" mechanism and the reclined the chair all the way back. I was actually laying back on a decline where my head was lower to the ground than my hips or knees and my feet were off the floor. Just to test the limits I also put my arms straight out over my head. It still held strong.
This is an amazing chair that is very comfortable and has great ergonomic support as well. Also, to answer your question @cynical_wonave i dont take naps in the chair but i do lay it back just to relax for 5-10 minutes when i am on a call or to stretch out my back. Its awesome.
If you have any questions, just let me know.

Thanks for your insight! It may be a little out of my price range at the moment, but I'll definitely consider it when the time comes.

I have it. It goes full 180 with no concern for falling. I even have my legs cross folded on the seat and still secure. I don’t know how it does not fall down as I would think it won’t be balanced. By the way, I am 6’2” and 190 lbs. and No issues.
