Review: AKRacing Overture Series Gaming Chair
Pros: ++ Tall back to rest head against for long sessions. ++ Includes two pillows for head and back. ++ Chair material is comfortable. (Not too firm and not too soft. Just right.) ++ Good instructions and easy construction.
Cons: -- Heavy initial out gassing of material. (Took 3-4 weeks before the smell dispersed.) -- No padding on arm rests! -- Bolstered sides limit seat space and are too firm. (Bad for larger people and may get in the way if you like to tuck your leg under the other leg.) -- Head pillow is limited how far up and down it can be adjusted due to seat design.
Other thoughts: As the review shows, the arm rests don't have the same soft foam padding like the rest of the chair. It is a hard foam which may be uncomfortable. Since they are going for a racing seat look-a-like, the racing seat design limits the chair. The holes the "seat belts" would go through, aren't long enough to give you a good range of height adjustment for the head pillow. The bolstered sides just aren't needed for a computer chair and just get in the way.
Again, good design for a car seat where restraint is vital, but should have been optimized for freedom and comfort since it's for a computer. Would I buy this chair again? Probably not. However, if they addressed the firm armrest padding, with an optional upgrade, and head pillow adjustability, it would be an improved design and something I would definitely recommend.
If you can take anything away from this review, it would be the following: If you do decide to get a higher dollar computer chair, try and sit in them or a similar one first or find a friend who has one. That's the best advice I can give you and other people would agree.
Overall I am happy with this chair. I can sit in it comfortably with the seat up or laid back.
Hope you're not discouraged too much by this review, just make sure you know what you are actually buying by trying it out first is all. Happy gaming.

Max_PowerThanks for the generally positive review. I just wanted to clear up one point. I think people might misunderstand where you say "no padding on the armrests". That might make it seem like it is hard plastic and no foam. There is foam and padding on the armrests. It is not soft spongy foam, it is firm. It is one of those things with gaming chairs, a lot of people have controllers or other devices when gaming and tend to lean forward and don't want to sink too deeply into heavily padded armrests.

AKRacingAmericaI have edited the review to reflect the proper physical properties of the chair. I agree with "heavily padded armrests." Bad choice. I was talking about a little bit of softer padding. Maybe an upgrade your company can add on in the future?
If you guys offered this, people would buy it. I would buy the upgrade if you come out with it. Just let me know. I would upgrade the chair if I could as much as I do my PC. Having the chair is nice and fun. Thank you.
Have a good day and let me know about the arm rest upgrades.
