I've heard good and bad about this game. The good seems to be that there is definitely a lot of nuance to this game and therefore it has replayability and some variation of tactics that can make for a successful playthrough. The bad I've heard is that A) the smartphone integration is sort of gimmicky and, if you don't have one, puts you at a disadvantage compared to everyone else and B) the game professes to be one thing but in practice is something else, meaning your first playthrough is almost more of a "learning the curve" experience and you'll have to play again to appreciate the strategic nuances mentioned earlier. As a gamer friend already owns a copy, I'm probably sitting this one out, but hopefully folks find this feedback useful.

TaniosI've played this three or four times now and really enjoy it.
The app, in my experience, works extremely well and really adds to the game (not to mention makes it nearly infinitely replayable). I haven't played without the app, though it can be done; as I understand it, that requires a non-player operating as sort of a moderator for the potion ingredient combinations.
As for the game being something different than promised, that wasn't my experience. It's a great deduction game that also requires some thoughtful resource selection and worker placement. The first game was a learning curve for me, certainly, but that's how it usually is for me with any new game.
I hope you get a chance to play it, and I hope you enjoy it. But whether you do or not, I hope you'll share your thoughts.

SquirrelhengeHey thanks for giving your opinion. We hope more people continue to do the same especially for board games, so people will have more insight into if they would enjoy playing them.

SquirrelhengeI've so far only played it once but this is my experience as well. It's a well made, quite fun game.
